Mark Hauser is an investor in private equity. He has been investing for over 20 years and has helped companies grow by using his experience to help them better understand their businesses. Mark is currently the Managing Partner at H3O Capital Partners, which he co-founded with David O’Hagan in 2009. This company specializes in sourcing investment opportunities, providing operational support to portfolio companies, and managing successful exits of these investments.
He started as a marketing executive at Procter & Gamble before transitioning into private equity when he joined New Mountain Capital as an associate partner in 1999. After spinning off from New Mountain, he then became a general partner at JMI Equity from 2003 to 2007 before joining H3O Capital Partners two years ago. He is a graduate of Harvard Business School and Wharton, where he earned his MBA in 1993.
Hauser has been featured in Forbes, the New York Times Dealbook Section, Private Equity International Magazine, and other publications. In addition to being an investor at HCM Capital Management from 2009-2011, Mark was also responsible for the firm’s marketing and communications activities. He is part of Wharton Alumni, serves on several boards, including New Mountain Capital Partners V Fund I LP, HCM Asset Management L.P., The FMCG Fund LLC, and serves on multiple other company boards throughout his career.
He also sits on the board of two private equity funds, one at Heitman LLC and another at JMI Equity. Hauser is a philanthropist who has supported various charitable organizations, including Easter Seals UCP, The Parkinson’s Foundation, and other initiatives to support military families in need.
Private Equity International Magazine recently recognized Mark Hauser as one of the most influential people in private equity. He was also listed on the Private Equity International Power 150 list and their advisory board member.
