Leaders take ownership
Most individuals are happy with the lives and roles they are born into. They are destined for a life of mediocrity and unfulfilled potential.
Then some people stand out for questioning the status quo, for attempting to improve themselves and their surroundings.
They refuse to play by the rules as they have been laid down and instead attempt to alter them.
Real leaders are self-confident and take responsibility for their own life. As a result, they do not allow others to dictate their future or allow life’s circumstances to keep them from moving forward.
Leadership is also responsible for the people and the surroundings in which they operate. However, this does not imply that they are in charge of everything.
Delegation is a skill that all successful leaders have mastered. Many leaders make the error of relegating rather than delegating.
Vijay Eswaran says the desire to be a part of something greater than ourselves has been shown throughout history.
When leaders come along and show us how to become better as individuals and as members of a larger community, they inspire others to believe in themselves.
True empowerment stems from a firm conviction in one’s abilities.
To go where we want, we need to believe in ourselves. To be effective, we must inspire people to believe in ourselves.
